Although the Demetrio Aguilera school is public and the children have free access to education. Because 60% of the families live in poverty, most of the families do not have the economical means to buy the school supplies and uniforms that are requested from the Ministry of Education to attend school. Incredibly attendance rates to school are greatly affected as children are not allowed to attend without uniforms, shoes and supplies. On average the children have only one uniform and many families cannot even afford one. With your help we can help the children of Bucay to have the necessary materials and uniform to attend school, lower drop out rates and improve schooling.
